James Beard Foundation Award winner Jacques Torres knows a thing or two about chocolate. At his beloved chocolate shops in Brooklyn and Manhattan this master chocolatier turns out handcrafted sweet creations featuring classic ingredients as well as some unexpected surprises. At this decadent brunch, Torres and his friends from the French Culinary Institute (where he is the Dean of Pastry Arts) will prepare a menu sure to satisfy even the most diehard chocoholics. Chocolate will appear throughout the menu of savory courses, culminating with a grand parade of desserts prepared by Mr. Chocolate himself—Jacques Torres of course.
This special brunch will be held at the historic James Beard House in the heart of Greenwich Village. The legendary food personality James Beard welcomed chefs, food lovers, and aspiring culinarians into his home to learn about food and to cook in his kitchen. The James Beard Foundation carries on this legacy by holding dinners and other food events in his home. This unique experience begins with an intimate walk through the kitchen and closes with an opportunity to speak with the chefs about their decadent dishes.
