When Chef Michael White first arrived in New York City, he became an Italian culinary sensation with his hands-on, ingredient-driven cooking style. White’s success has not gone unnoticed. His most recently opened restaurant, Marea, took home the 2010 James Beard Foundation Award for Best New Restaurant. White’s unique approach bodes well for one of the Festival’s most exciting new events, the Decadent White Truffle Dine-Around hosted by Michael White. This intimate evening will pack one lucky group of diners into four of the city’s finest eateries, where the group will enjoy a decadent white truffle course and one fabulous wine pairing at each restaurant.Starting at White’s brand new SoHo trattoria, Osteria Morini, guests will escape to Truffle heaven with a starter course. But don’t get too comfortable because a VIP shuttle provided by Delta Air Lines is awaiting to take the group to each of White’s other NYC restaurants: Convivio, Alto and Marea while experiencing Delta’s signature hospitality. A multiple Michelin Star winner in 2009 and 2010, White is endlessly inspired by the notion of taste memory and strives to recreate the sensory feel of true Italian dining experiences. This four-stop experience will make you forget the NYC skyline and leave you dreaming of Italy all weekend long.
